LA City Council approves $1.4-billion plan to fix crumbling sidewalks
It could take up to 30 years for Los?Angeles to fix its backlog of buckled and broken sidewalks, according to a $1.4 billion repair program approved Wednesday. But for homeowners and businesses who can’t wait, the city will now offer thousands of dollars in construction rebates to help pay for out-front sidewalk makeovers.
